Hello all! It's been a busy start to the year for the LatMWD team, so here is an update on what we've been working on! 

Character Art

Updated Demo

We will be releasing an updated version of the demo this June with CGs, voice acting, bug fixes, and new UI/UX! 

New artist joining the team! 

Please give a warm welcome to our new teammate Jazmine Valickis! She's an incredibly talented illustrator and animator based in the lower mainland, and has worked on some awesome projects like "Star Trek: Lower decks" ! 

Jazmine will be doing layouts for the CGs and some animation for a new trailer we'll be releasing this summer.

UI/UX 

Our UI/UX artist Kate has been hard at work putting together the updated assets as well as some new ones. Here is a little preview of the player's palmpad! 

It will be the access point for the much requested in-game recipe guide, as well as a little texting feature. 

Voice acting 

Now that we have approval, we are pleased to announce that LatMWD will feature partial voice acting! This is thanks to an awesome new agreement for low and ultra-low budget indie games from UBCP/ACTRA, our local voice actor's union. 

We are currently in the process of casting actors and will be announcing the cast in April. 

Music 

Our composer Vanessa is in the final stages of mixing and mastering the tracks! 

Narrative

Progress on the narrative continues at a reasonable pace, however we have had to change our production schedule slightly, finishing the first half of the narrative off in the spring and the second half mid-summer. 

Breaking it up like this allows for implementation to begin earlier. 

Release date 

We have decided on November 13th 2025 as the release date for LatMWD and will be updating the steam page to reflect this. 

Having this extra month of wiggle room will be a great help in making LatMWD a quality game on release.
